A Baseline

The day at the Kennedy Krieger Constraint Program is divided into two sections, AM and PM. Byron has the PM and another little boy has the AM. Each child has a Physical Therapist and an Occupational Therapist. Wednesdays, the boys both come in the AM so that all the therapists can make rounds at Johns Hopkins in the afternoon. Today was Wednesday so we watched both wild 2 1/2 year olds running the hallways with their big white casts.

Byron's therapists are named Meghan and Erin. Both are young and very sweet. When we arrived this morning Byron squealed with delight and had no trouble leaving me behind as he ran down the hallway with his therapist. So much for separation anxiety!

While his therapists said he is doing well in his therapy, at home he doesn’t want to use his left hand much at all. We took a couple of videos so we’d have a baseline to keep checking against. We’ll repeat these activities (and others) and video them every few days to mark his progress.

Here is Byron watching his favorite show, Yo Gabba Gabba tonight with his bottle. I actually thought this was a Baltimore hat. Oh well…
